In the words of my wife: the original Sona is the best product ever. The Silca needs a power upgrade to be on the same level as the original Sona. With more power it could live up to its billing. I was a little taken back by the cost of this item, however after using it I am a changed, and might I add stress free, woman! Better than Sona by far!
Larger softer head is way more user friendly, suction is less focused so there is no fear of pain, as with sona.
