As adverised I bought a new laptop that only had the one audio/mic output and I had an older headset that had two separate connections. One for the mic and one for the headset. This splitter saved me from buying a whole new headset by separating the mic and the speaker into two separate connection...

Tried using with an I phone...no bueno Headphone side works fine....the mic side doesn't work at all, IPhone doesn't even recognize an external mic is plugged in so forces it to use the phone's built in mic. Waste of money, but that's what you get when you buy cheap.

Mac incompatibility? Look no further!!! So I stumbled across a forum that said if you physically mute the mic (place your finger over it), it will recognize the external mic!! Worked for me!! Adaptor is now working for me :) Hope this helped!!!
