I looked on line for such a device, I found nothing that supports the microphone. iPhone 7 won't give me enough talk time. Because my work can demand me to be on the phone for 8 hours, I hated my 7. The item works as advertised. I did not know you could only do the charge or listen to headphones when I bought. I hope one of the lightening connections will work to plug in the adapter to listen to older headphones, while charging on the other one,works. I didn't have that as yet so not sure. Int... Admittedly my intended use is not conventional. Purchased to pass music from iPhone to external DAC/Amp with ear buds attached. No slowing down as far as charging speed and quality of music through the headphones is not lost either! This piece really is great.

Absolute garbage. Had less than six months and used only Apple brand cables. It burned two Apple cables. I thought it was a fluke but it was it. Used it as directed.
